Couverture & The Garbstore

The Brief

Our work was focused on creating a new sense of arrival and retail counter piece, as well as uplifting the shop’s finishes as a whole. As experts in contemporary retail design in London, we wanted to create something which was crafted and had character, so it could reflect the shop’s high standard of carefully selected garments and products. To achieve this, we used a rustic grade European oak for the retail counter, embracing the natural knots and variations and maintaining a natural tone.

Bespoke Interior Design

As a backdrop, we added a playful mix of three-dimensional Italian glazed tiles, with an alternating pattern of three variations. This creates a playful and tactile surface, which reflects beautifully onto the curved hand-patinated brass countertop. Further, a rich tone of terracotta-colored stoneware pendants and velvet covering within the jewelry display add yet another layer of depth and texture.

The new design has integrated well with the existing interiors, adding a subtle and elevated experience of modern elegance. Our approach to contemporary retail design ensures that every small detail contributes to the overarching sophisticated ambiance of Couverture & The Garbstore.
